Digital Product Licence

In plain words: print as many times as you like, for your own children. If you are a teacher, you may print for your own class. You may not pass the file on, publish it, or sell it — neither printed nor altered.

The rest of this page says the same thing in the words that would matter if it ever came to a dispute.

Who owns what

The books, the worksheets, the text, the order of the pages and their layout are the work of Comanici Lavinia and are protected by Law 8/1996 on copyright. Under art. 1(2), that protection exists by the simple fact of the work having been created — no registration, no deposit, no formality of any kind.

When you buy, you buy the right to use the files, not the files themselves. Copyright stays with the author, and moral rights cannot be transferred at all.

What the licence gives you

A licence that is non-exclusive, non-transferable, without the right to sublicense, unlimited in time and valid worldwide, for these uses:

  • Print the files as often as you want, on any printer, for the children in your own family.
  • Keep copies on your own devices and print them again later, including when the first copy is ruined.
  • If you teach, print them for the children in one class or group.
  • Give a printed page to the child it was printed for, to take home.

What it does not give you

  • Sending, sharing or uploading the file to anyone else: other parents, other teachers, messaging groups, cloud storage or file-sharing sites.
  • Publishing the file, or any page of it, whole or in part, anywhere public.
  • Selling it in any form: as a file, printed, bound, or as part of another product, paid or free.
  • Changing, translating, re-drawing or adapting it and passing the result on.
  • Using the pages, the drawings or the text inside a product or service of your own.
  • Using them to train an automated system.

Anything not written above stays with the author.

Free files

The free samples come under the same rules. Free to download does not mean free to pass on — send people the page they came from, not the file.

Nurseries, schools, libraries

One licence covers one class or group. If the files will be used across several groups, a whole nursery, a school or a library, write to hello@page4fun.com and we will agree separate terms. It usually costs little, and it is simpler than having it come up later.

If the licence is broken

The licence ends by itself, without notice, the moment these terms are broken, and any copies must be deleted and destroyed.

Law 8/1996 lets an author go to court to have an infringement stopped and to claim damages. Where the loss cannot be worked out from lost sales and the infringer's gain, the law allows damages set at three times the sum that would lawfully have been due for that use.

We would much rather send an email first. If you are not sure whether something is allowed, ask — the answer is usually yes.

Applicable law

Romanian law, in particular Law 8/1996 on copyright and neighbouring rights.
